Build-to-spec & build-to-fit

Nearly half of our orders entail customization of an existing design outlined in this catalog. Build-to-spec and build-to-fit describe two ways in which we create the furniture you want. Here’s how:

Build-to-spec

Routinely, we add length to tabletops, mix and match leg or bedpost styles, even alter the thickness of a surface or its original height. Our Waitsfield Table is a built-to-spec masterpiece so artful it became a staple of our repertoire. The Windham Farm Table is another custom piece recently added to our base product line. Throughout this catalog, leg and bedpost styles are pictured separately, up-close, and in detail to help you select the style just right for your tastes and your home.

Build-to-fit

Build-to-fit goes hand-in-hand with build-to-spec. If you describe or sketch that special room in need of a table, chest, or cupboard, or that special stereo, computer, or television in need of case piece, we will tailor one of our pieces to fit your setup precisely. Like many great works of art, many of our pieces began as pencil sketches on a napkin. We can transform even your bare outline of an idea into a custom masterpiece.
