Warranty, Terms and Conditions
Vermont Furniture Works Warranty, Terms and Conditions
Warranty
Every piece of furniture we create is crafted with
great care and expertise. If you are not fully satisfied, we will
accept returns of noncustomized furniture within 30 days of you
receiving your piece. You are responsible for any and all shipping
and repackaging costs to our cabinetshop in Morrisville, Vt. You
have the choice of store credit for the full purchase price of the
piece or a cash refund minus a 10% restocking and handling fee.
Goods must be in "as new" condition with no evidence of use or damage.
The return or credit of customized furniture is
at our discretion.
All furniture is warrantied from structural defects.
Normal shrinkage, swelling, hairline cracks and minor warpage of
wide board furniture is to be expected and is not a structural defect
and therefore not covered.
Gifts and Decorative Accessories
We offer store credit or full refund on items returned
in resaleable condition within 30 days of original purchase.
Deposits and Balances Payable
We require a 50% deposit to initiate an order. The
deposit guarantees and secures the production time to build your
piece or to order your chairs. Once your furniture is built and
finished, we require the balance to be paid. We ask for your understanding
with these policies. We are a very small company and are committed
to being fiscally responsible to the staff and to the multitude
of vendors we have; therefore, we are unable to carry unpaid balances.
Storage
We have the ability to store your furniture if
you are unable to receive your furniture once it is complete. The
weekly fee for this is $6.00 per piece or set of chairs.
Lumber
Lumber varies in color and grain from tree to tree.
And though we use premium grade lumber, this variation will occur
and will be evident in your furniture to varying degrees. This is
part of the unique character of our furniture and should be expected.
The lumber also may have small knots in it. We are not able to guarantee
clear boards, totally free from knots. There may also be streaking
in some of the tiger maple lumber; this is a natural characteristic
of the tree, and therefore the lumber. The cabinetmakers do their
best to keep the figuring consistent throughout a piece of furniture;
however, there will be some variations in the figuring from board
to board.
Finishes
We use water-based stains with a Tung Oil finish,
which are hand applied to every piece of our furniture. Each board
of lumber may take stain slightly differently. Small variations
in color may occur from piece to piece because of the nature of
the grain, the amount of figuring in each board and the porosity
of the grain in the lumber. However, every piece of furniture when
complete, has met our standard for color and consistency of color
throughout the piece. The furniture in our showroom and the stain
samples we send to you for confirmation of color are subject to
these variations and your furniture may vary slightly from these
samples.
Completion and Delivery Times
Completion times are given as an approximate date
when you purchase your furniture. We will not sacrifice quality
for time in building your furniture; therefore we may not meet an
exact completion date which may be five, six or possibly more months
in the future when you order.
Freight
In arranging delivery of your furniture, it is often
difficult to coordinate a particular carrier with your schedule.
We will do our very best to accommodate your needs and we ask for
your understanding in arranging delivery. All furniture is inspected
and in excellent condition when it leaves our cabinetshop. All damage
incurred en route is the responsibility of the shipper. Inspect
your furniture immediately upon arrival, refuse the delivery if
there is obvious damage and call us immediately.
We reserve the right to make construction changes
to our furniture from time to time in order to incorporate improvements.
No changes will be made to the overall design, appearance or aesthetics
without your prior approval.
